the latest git does not compile on osx 12 monterey.
make gives: 1 error and 1 warning.
perhaps you will be interested by this:
gcc -I. -I. -I./../Programs -I../Programs -I../Headers -I./.. -I..
-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g -O2 -std=gnu99 -Wall -Wno-initializer-overrides

You may try starting brltty with the -Z command line argument.
If it works that means brltty privileges aren't set properly.
