There are 3 variables used by automake when calling dejagnu's
runtest:
$RUNTESTDEFAULTFLAGS - default from automake
$AM_RUNTESTFLAGS - set by package developer
$RUNTESTFLAGS - for user configuration
However, AM_RUNTESTFLAGS is used first and is therefore overwritten
by RUNTESTDEFAULTFLAGS.
