bash for loop errorr

2007-05-23 Thread Vikas Dube

Hello,
I am having GNU bash, version 2.03.0(1)-release (sparc-sun-solaris2.6),
while executing for loop
# for (( i=1; i5 ; i++ )) ; do echo $i ; done
I am getting error
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(('

The same for loop is working file on GNU bash, version 3.00.15(1)-release
(i386-redhat-linux-gnu)

Thanks in advance
Vikas Dube

Consider upgrading. Bash is now at 3.2, and has several new features and
bug fixes above what 2.03 or even 3.0 had.

That construct was not added to bash until version 2.04.
