Thanks for reporting that. As it happens, the problem was fixed in coreutils
8.25 (2016-01-20); see:
https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=27513
so I'll close the bug report and you should be able to fix the problem by
upgrading to a more-modern coreutils.
