Summary: find changes access time on directories Project: findutils Submitted by: None Submitted on: Fri 19 May 2017 03:44:12 PM UTC Category: find Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Adesh Originator Email: ade...@hotmail.com Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 4.6.0 Fixed Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Command line: $ find . -xdev -mmin -5 Running the above command modifies the access time of all subdirectories under current directory to current timestamp. This looks like a bug to me since I do not expect 'find' to modify filesystem as it is a utility to, you know, find files. If this is not a bug please explain this behaviour, may be put an explanation on the site or manual page. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?51069> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
