at boot time lilo you can not. The are other issues that I have not thought of or don't know, but I hope it helps. Conclusion: Grub is more powerful and flexible, but for non-users users lilo is simpler and looks better. Great - thanks Shaun. -- Steve

Is it possible for a boot loader to fix/patch the pc-bios to get rid of stupid 1024 cylinder bios limit once and for all !!!
