With fontencoding set to T1 (for example with \encoding "TeX" it seems
to be default) at least on cygwin ecrm1000 is looked for, despite there
is no references in the tex file created. I think this is because the
default roman font maps to it and the default font is always created, or

Thanks, added to cvs.

I think you've misunderstood the problem. Please try this:
\version "2.4.2"
\score { <<
\new Staff {
\override Score.RehearsalMark #'self-alignment-X = #-1
b8 \mark \markup {\small \bold "Why is this so ugly?"} as g16
g8.~g4 g16 g8 g16 |
c16 c c c c c c c c c c c c c c c | c8
That's a good question :-) It was the first I tried.
Bert
Also, why doesn't it help to set
\override Score.RehearsalMark #'no-spacing-rods = ##t
to make the first example behave like the second one?

Here's a score with the no-barlines problem:
\context StaffGroup <<
\new DrumStaff \with { \override StaffSymbol #'line-count = #1 }
\drummode { mar2 m

Yes, thanks, t
Why not take the slur-attachment-override.ly from the Tips and Tricks
document of version 2.2 (attached)?
This property doesn't exist in version 2.4 and there is no replacement
either as far as I know. However, the question is if convert-ly should
warn about every single property that has been remo
Hello,
I am trying to find a way to change the position of superior tuplet
brackets via:
\override TupletBracket #'extra-offset = #'(0 . 1.5)
This works quite well, as you can see in the first bar. However, I have
a problem, when the first element of a tuplet is again a tuplet, as in

It's always better if you can supply a complete (but small) example.
Why not use the RhythmicStaff context if you only want a one-line
staff? See
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.4/Documentation/user/out-www/lilypond/Showing-melody-rhythms.html#Showing-melody-rhythms
This will give you bar lines.
However

Hi,
Can you please send complete (=compilable) scores which reproduce your
problems?

If you want to move objects vertically, it's often much better to
set the padding property than to start fiddling with extra-offset,
since then LilyPond will (at least in some occassions) realize that
you have moved the object and adjust some other objects accordingly.

Hi,
Can you please send in a complete (but preferably small) score that generates
the bug #1?

I would say it's a real bug anyway. I added it to repository, as
volta-bracket-align.

I just tried percussion notation for the first time (with today's CVS)
and noticed a couple of quirks.
No barlines:
I need a percussion staff above a normal five-line staff (piano left
hand). If I make the percussion staff a one-line staff, it doesn't have
barlines anymore. It doesn't matter if
This "bug" has existed for many years. The solution/workaround is to
increase the minimum-space property of the VoltaBracket object:
\override Staff.VoltaBracket #'minimum-space = #7
