Thanks for the report and the initial investigation. I've opened an issue at https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/issues/6051 so it doesn't get lost. I can reproduce this with both 2.20 and current master, so probably not a recent regression (if it ever worked). Cheers Jonas
