Hi, we have the following problem: parted say that the disk (see below) has BIOS cylinder, head, sector geometry: 9729,255,63. But it writes other informations into the first sector of the fat partition... In sektor 1 of the fat32 partition the 2 bytes with offset 26 should show the number of heads for interupt 0x13. And IMHO that should be the same as parted gets from the BIOS.... Or am i wrong? But at these 2 bytes there is a value of "78" instead of "255". And also the 2 bytes with offset 24 (which should contain the sectors per track for interupt 0x13) shows 60 instead of 63. These all leads to the result of a "ntldr not found" problem.....
Maybe you can help me out of this ???? Here follows the system informations, if you need more let me know. _____________SYSTEM INFORMATIONS_______________________________________ here is the output from "parted /dev/dsk print unit s print unit chs print" #parted start Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 0.51kB 4000MB 4000MB primary fat32 boot, lba Disk /dev/sda: 156301487s Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 1s 7812500s 7812500s primary fat32 boot, lba Disk /dev/sda: 9729,80,62 Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B BIOS cylinder, head, sector geometry: 9729,255,63.
