If the port is different, it seems to work, according to my testing.
Look at the allowed configuration at the bottom of the link in comment 2.

It also reproduces if i change it to
RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://%{HTTP_HOST}:%{SERVER_PORT}/$1 [P]
