This role uses the business requirements as input and creates detailed design artifacts that are consumed by the Implementation Architect and Developers. The Design Architect is also responsible for communicating detailed design and high level design directions with other technical teams. *Qualifications:*Education& Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 8 years of system architecture experience or an equivalent combination of experience with training and/or certification. -Demonstrated strong knowledge of application architecture and design *-*Proven experience with sophisticated analysis and design methodologies *-*Experience with delivering presentations and demonstration of team leadership *-*Development experience *-*Experience creating UML design artifacts *-*Experience applying design patterns -Proficient in Java development *-*Experience with EJBs, SOAP, and web services *-*Experience with DB2 and SQL Concepts *-*Knowledge of XML *-*Knowledge of Web Security as it applies to application architecture *Physical Requirements & Work Environment:-*Performs work required for this position in an office environment -Remain sedentary for significant periods of time *Mental Requirements:-*Must have highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to focus attention on details. *-*Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. *-*Ability to develop and promote effective working relationships with all levels of AES/PHEAA management *-*Ability to work independently, with limited supervision *-*Ability to promote and support a consistent, professional, customer focus and work effectively in a team environment.
