Job Title: Senior Java Developer 4-6 openings Location: Topeka, KS Duration: 2 years Job Description: Client is currently underway with a strategic initiative to modernize its business processes, organization, and technology in order to maintain or enhance the current and future level of service provided to its customers. This modernization will include the transition from traditional, legacy type technology and applications to more modern technologies with a focus on the web and its related aspects. Client's current are predominately oriented to the mainframe/legacy technologies and must keep these systems running while the modernization takes place. As this modernization occurs it will be necessary for client to supplement its existing staff with contract staff experienced in these new modern technologies, as well as the legacy technologies. Java Application Developers (4-6) and Application Developers - Reports/Forms (1-2). This staff will primarily work on the current project initiatives. Staff will be involved in coding and configuration of Java applications being transferred to client or developed internally. These are Java applications based on a Spring Framework, SOA, ESB, business process workflow (BPM), business rules (OPA), reporting/data warehouse (BI Publisher/OBIEE), web services, and a majority of the Oracle product set. Work will be done alongside permanent staff and the various Service Integrator staff. Contract staff will be expected to mentor the state staff. Required Skills: Codes tests, and configures system components Translates functional requirements and designs into programmatic code Create design packs Estimate work efforts for work plan creation and maintenance Implements agency-specific configurations and customizations Performs testing on code until passes unit test conditions Create unit test plan, perform testing, and work with testing staff on system testing Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively with Business and IT community Web Services - creation, publishing, ingestion, lifecycle, standards Database knowledge: ANSI SQL, Data Access Objects Specific programming language skills/knowledge: Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Java Server Pages, Oracle Portal, XML, Rational Suite (Trained), Unified Modeling Language (UML), Services Oriented Development, Oracle Unified Business Process Management, Oracle Policy Automation, WebLogic.
