*No H1B & OPT'sFace To Face Interview* *Responsibilities*Responsible for planning and designing and developing new software tools used for support of on-TV applications deployed to Comcast’s 20M homes. Tools may include: Automated testing of set top box apps. Developer will write scripts to drive the testing, but core development effort will be of home-grown development of Java software that will integrate tightly will actual application logic to test apps across new set top box SW and HW that Comcast continually deploys. Tools for automated application-level monitoring, to be integrated closely with actual app deployment software. The app SW is generally written in Java or HTML/JS, and the app monitoring SW will follow suit. Tools for load / stress testing of our applications, to enable us to plan app VM scaling. Tools for manual investigation of operational problems that are escalated to our team. Analyzes, tests, and assists with the integration of new applications. Create documentation of all development activity. Collaborates with other application developer and QA team members to identify and document technical requirements for operational and testing support. Part of agile app dev team. Work to be integrated into agile scrum process with use of agile tools such as Rally. Ability to stand up and integrate with laboratory hardware systems (cable box, networking, test tools, Linux servers). Ability to design production deployment architecture of new monitoring systems. Familiar with deployment and scaling of large scale redundant systems that support 20M customers. Contribution to the functional specifications, design, and documentation of our complete product line is encouraged. Identify product deficiencies and defects Contribute to development in the form of enhancements and fixes Ensures delivers software on time, to specification. *Qualifications:* Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science,…) Senior level Software Development experience Senior level Core Java/J2EE software development experience. Solid experience in Server side development Strong skills with object oriented design patterns, Java, web / service development Experience working in Linux or UNIX environments Ability to use shell scripting and regular expressions. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug. Good problem solving and analytic skills in resolving the technical challenges of the project and providing creative solutions to them.
