*Job Description:*



1. Hands on experience and expertise in *RHEL 6.0 and higher, SUSE 11,
SUSE 10, BladeLogic and UCS*

2. Manage large scale Linux server environments: handling Linux
environment builds, including deployment, administration, networking,
performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, troubleshooting and
production operations.

3. Supporting, interfacing and cooperating with cross functional teams.
Ability to work closely with end users to understand their needs and
provide guidance

4. Evaluate and recommend systems software and hardware for enterprise
systems.

5. Responsible for maintaining customized Linux kernel derived from
CentOS in support of production computing.

6. Contribute to the evolving architecture of our linux and storage
services to meet changing requirements for scaling, reliability,
performance, manageability, and price.

7. Manage, deploy and configure infrastructure with Puppet or other
automation toolset.

8. Identify hardware and software technical problems, storage and/or
related system malfunctions, as well as upgrade and deploy SANs, NAS and
related servers and services.

9. Capacity planning, metrics development and implementation of
new/upgraded hardware and software releases as well as for compute and
storage infrastructure.

10.  Responsible for monitoring the Linux community and report on important
changes/enhancements to the team.

11.  Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated
approaches for system administration tasks.

12.  Manage and maintain monitoring to ensure uptime and SLA levels.

13.  Perform other work related duties as assigned.



*Desired Skills*



1. Minimum of 7 years of large scale Linux system experience (RHEL and
SUSE).

2. Ability to work with and provide support for cross functional groups
and technical areas (compute, storage, network, applications and databases).

3. Experience architecting and administering Linux servers, scheduling
systems, and high-performance storage and networking systems.

4. Must have firm understanding of Linux internals and have automated
system building, patching, and configuration management.

5. Experience with complex networking infrastructure including
firewalls, VLANs, and load balancers.

6. Experience with Shell Scripting/Perl/Python and automation
experience is a must.

7. Strong networking and Windows/Linux interoperability experience.

8. Good collaboration & communication skills, ability to participate in
interdisciplinary team.

9. Strong written communications and documentation experience

10.  Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and
disaster recovery.
