KJ, I'm a bit late getting in on this dialogue, so sorry if this is redundant.
I'm the proprietor of the Google Sheet where you can self-service put your name
on a day/time slot and be the net control for the noon net. It's great
practice.I'm sure John will be glad for you to take a spot. The script is in a
tab. Here is the link for the sheet . Anyone can open and edit it. If anyone
destroys it, I'll make another.I believe Eddie Runner has put a link on the
BVARC web page as well. It goes to the same sheet.
If anyone doesn't want their name and info seen, then don't put it there, just
your call. But be the controller that day if you do. :-)
73 and good radio to all.

I was a member of K7LED in Seattle for a decade prior to moving here, it’s
roughly twice the membership on Facebook.  I mention this not as a statistic of
any fact, but a measure of differing opinions available to the group.  And
there are, where being a ham radio operator often puts you on the opposite end
of the political spectrum around you.  Any time you have more than one person
in a room with an opinion, (especially when we’re all passionate, competitive,
volunteers), you’ll have disagreement; it’s up to us as a group to err on the
side of grace and forgiveness, be quick to forgive and slow to anger as The
Good Book says.

When I moved here, I listed to every net I could pull into for a few weeks, and
I decided to plant with BVARC because I liked the people I heard, *the
difference* in abilities, opinions, and backgrounds.  I don’t agree with all of
them, and that’s ok.  But let’s remember that, see past that- I’ll ask you to
be patient with me because I am loud and brash and will likely at some point
rub you the wrong way as well.

Feedback is good, it sounds like the script needs to be updated, I’d be happy
to help with that (though I’m out of town for a few weeks), who do I work with
to get this accomplished?  I’m a passionate, competitive, volunteer, can
someone point me in the right direction?

Also- How does a person volunteer and get vetted to be net control?
