While browsing around this evening, I found some rubberized fabric that
might be suitable for bellows. It is described as "Black rubberized fabric
provides an easy method for protecting light-sensitive equipment. The
rubberized coating prevents light from penetrating through the weave of the
fabric. Not intended for use in laser curtain applications. For longer
lengths, add $13.00 per yard."

It is only sold in pieces 60" by 3 yards long, which would be enough to make
quite a few bellows! Each piece is $40, but that works out to only $13.30 a
yard, which is pretty inexpensive. Suitable material for bellows seems to
be an endless worry for camera makers. My 8x10 does not close properly
because I could not find a good material... I have a design in my head for
another 8x10, so I will probably be needing another bellows soon. I'm going
to quit my day job soon, so i'll have every afternoon off to play! (still
keep the night job)
