A lot of users are having the following problem, reported to the Skype
forum with no oficial answer from Skype:
Skype keep stops responding randomly afres seconds or minutes, without
an apparent reason.
It kept silently freezing, with the interface *still appearing to be

Thank you very much, this bug report was filed on my behalf - since the
askubuntu-question was mine. The problem described does no more occur on
my machines, however, I did nothing to prevent it, so I cannot tell why.
Skype runs well again without freezing my desktop or laptop.

Sorry,
it works fine for me with the 11.1.102.63 release. I made the misstake to not
care about using amd64 ubuntu version.
So until a fixed release of the package is released this workaround could be
used:
for amd64 systems:
wget
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adobe-flashplugin/11.1.102

tried the workaround but doesn't work for me. Seems that the plugin
could not be loaded after replacing the libflashplayer.so
