Found the problem. It's an odd one. Looking in the Volume Control app
(not sure if it's a Gnome or Xfce thing - desktop is Xfce), it showed
that it has been defaulting to trying to play the audio stream through
Redwood HMDI Audio on account of seeing a Radeon video card in the
system. Turning that
@zarafa we have been able to reassert a communication line with
canonical, and there will be new pushes from us to the partner repo ppa,
so with a bit of cooperation a newer release will be there soon, and we
can keep then coming again.

Today I was working on my hack to fix Flash fullscreen mode and I
noticed that when the settings dialogue is open Flash spams hundreds of
XGetGeometry() calls on the root window. I can't see a good reason why
Flash needs to check the size of the root window several times per
second whenever that
alphapapa, I've just had a look into this. The acroread package (version
9.5.1) does intend to install a copy of the plugin to
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins (symlinked to /usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins)
- this is triggered by a postinst trigger to
/opt/Adobe/Reader9/install_browser_plugin. However,
