Hi Oliver,
Yes, it would be great if you can give me some instruction how to run
Pixelmed as an applet. I have read the readme available in the package
[1], but there they refer to Nagoya's applet.

Hi Kaloyan,
I'll give the new Nagoya viewer a try as soon as I'll have some spare
time to do this.
By the way: it is possible to run Pixelmed as an applet, I've done
this before. As soon as I have more time I'll try that again and give
feedback to you.

Hi Kurt,
Yes, I have considered using Java WebStart.
Do you have some easy-to-follow tutorial about this?

Hello all
I don't know if it is of relevance, but I will just say it anyway ...
an alternative to a pure applet solution might be an applciation
started over Java webstart. If there is a good open source DICOM
viewer written in Java it should not be difficult to package it as

Hello Oliver, Joaquin
I have checked the links you gave me.
Pixelmed is good, but the GUI is desktop application and not an applet.
For applet version they refer to Nagoya's applet dicom viewer that is
already integrated in Care2x. However, it was worth to check again
Nagoya's site, because I fo
The license is the New BSD License. It is GPL-compatible and can be
shipped with Care2x. I will give it a look.
Thanks for the link.

Hello all,
I use Pixelmed (http://www.pixelmed.com) as a DICOM-Viewer. It's not
true GPL, but distributed under a similar licence by the author. It's
Java based and runs under Windows and Linux (and probably also under
Mac Os X).

Hi Joaquin,
Can you give me url links to these dicom viewers so I can throw an eye
on them?

Of course, other viewers can be added. The only requirement is that
their license is gpl-compatible and they are platform independent.
Probably,

Hello,
Yes, this is true. I have seen several open source dicom viewers and
converters, but none of them is perfect on dicom specification support.
It depends the source of the dicom image - different medical equipment
produces dicom images with different structure that is not always
supported by
