Too much emphasis is placed on roles within open source projects. The reality of open source is that the person who does the most work in each part of the project is the real head of that role.
To be honest it came as a surprise to me that Elpidio was still considered to be the project manager of care2x. In recent years the de facto project manager of care2x has been Gjergj, with assistance from Robert. It is great that Mauri is now putting energy and work into the project, and that is why people are now regarding him as project manager. There is really no such thing as promotion or demotion within a project, just those who do a lot of work, and those who do a little.
