Have I made a mistake?
Apart from that, I wonder why DL3 has not been transformed into a shift
register. I changed
the option ShiftReg in the file system.xmp that Wesley mentioned to “Yes”, but
this didn’t
change anything.

There is an option for ShiftReg. I have not played with it myself, but it
might be what you are looking for.

I think you are looking for the resynth_netlist function found in mlib_devel as
the file resynth_netlist.m. I think the comments make it rather
self-explanatory, but please let me know (via the mailing list) if it's not
