Me too. I searched my smtp logs back two weeks and did not find any bounces.
I wonder if we were victims of someone/something sending false bounce messages
to the list, thereby causing us to be removed temporarily?

Just like spam filtering, there is no magic solution to it. But hopefully we
can cut chunks off the problem in several different ways (erCaptcha, GeoIP,
etc.) and get it down to a manageable size.
