I walked to and from Stewart Park today (02 Dec). On may return, crossing Taughannock Blvd I noticed all the ROCK PIGEONS who rest on the wires, along with a few EUROPEAN STARLINGS take flight. Then I saw there was one bird perched on the power pole midway among where the other birds like to rest
I was at Myers from a little before 4 till sundown, and there were
large flocks of Mallards & Coots (plus one Red-breasted Merganser and
three Great Blue Herons) -- no Eider that I could see. I scanned the
large Mallard flocks one bird at a time, and nada. There was one
raft of ducks furt
Ken Rosenberg and I also had four American Pipits (late) foraging on the
south side of the spit at midday today at Myers.

Hi all
There was a Northern Shrike on Ellis Hollow Creek Rd., on the telephone wire
just east of the intersection with Turkey Hill Rd. at 12:33 this afternoon
(Thursday). I believe somebody reported a possible shrike at that location last
week. It was quite visible and active!
