Little late in posting, but day before yesterday I was very pleasantly
surprised to see a GREAT BLUE HERON flying at the back of the Tompkins
Co. Solid Waste/Recycling Center. I'm always amazed how they find
enough food to survive the winter. Actually, in some way or another all
birds amaze
My daughter reported about 100 SNOW GEESE in a field near TCCC late this
morning. I watched 3 groups totaling about 200 headed north over
Brooktondale early this afternoon.

I was heading out to go around Beebe Lake at 12:40 and had a small flock of
Canada geese overhead. It's good to know others are seeing geese as well!

The Snow Geese were out as well today. I observed two flocks of around 30 geese
each flying north over the Cornell Ag Quad just after noon.

Second hand sighting: Wife Elizabeth said a very large owl, very white with
beige markings evenly spread on wings and back, flew right in front of her
at headlight level last night on E.King Rd. in Ithaca.
She didn't get a good look at the head.
this was well after dark.
