Also had Red-eyed Vireo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, even a House Wren, plus plenty
of the warblers and other birds that I've mentioned

Hi all,
There were quite a few migrants around Northeast Ithaca and Sapsucker Woods
today. On Tareyton Drive, Jay McGowan alerted me to a CAPE MAY WARBLER
which I later found in a large-ish mixed species flock. The complete list

Birds were initially scattered at the start of my morning. By the time I left
and the skies cleared, vocal activity had picked up and many birds had moved
into the taller older section of hawthorns in the Northeast corner.
Highlight: BLACKPOLL WARBLER singing odd rapid-fire song in NE corner.
The Snow Goose is still hanging around the Thomas Rd beaver ponds and this
morning I heard a Sora in one of the overgrown ponds just N of the BB

The location Jeff mentions for the Sora is the same as where I heard one
about 2 weeks ago. Nice to know it may be staying around. The darn bird
did not respond to playbacks on my Big Day. It certainly is not a bird
that I am very fond of.
Cheers,

On Monday I noticed that the Bobolinks had returned and were fighting for space
in my back pasture. Three males were seen all at one time all diving and
calling. I felt sure that there were more but they were so busy it was hard to
figure it out.

Just to continue with the theme of my Cayuga bird club newsletter column of
