Friends who live on the north end of Scofield Rd., Lansing, where we have all
seen the Short Eared Owls, are fairly sure that Rick saw 2 SNOWY OWLS flying
over the fields on Saturday before the storm. It was late afternoon. I asked
them to compare Snowy Owls with Short Eared Owls.

Ice cover on Lake Erie was at 93% yesterday. With a cold week and lower wind
speeds in the forecast, perhaps some waterfowl be forced aloft in search of
open water.
