I may be the last one to find out about this - but if not . . . . . Brought to my attention by Bill Hecht: the US FWS “Feather Atlas: Flight Feathers of North American Birds”. An amazing resource for identifying birds from a single feather (wing or tail).

Thanks Bob! Just right in time this email came. I was sitting with a few feathers in my coat pocket, which I collected them from Arboretum a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was from Ring-necked Pheasant, something had killed this bird and eaten most of it except for a bunch of feathers
