Lately I've only got two Pine Siskins, but some 20 Purple Finches, plus plenty
of Goldfinches. Probably at least 6 Fox Sparrows... hard to get a count on them
because the ground is reappearing and they've gone back to singing from deep in
the thickets.

While eating lunch, I was very surprised to look out and see a PINE
SISKIN (also eating lunch??) in among the Goldfinches. This is our
first of the year. In fact, our first of last year was also seen in
April. Guess we seem to only have them at our feeders while they're
migrating north.
Hi all,
The Red-tailed Hawks that have nested on the cliff face in the gorge on the NW
side of Cornell Campus are still on eggs. I was lucky enough to witness an
incubation exchange this morning during which the two eggs were visible. Can't
remember when they were first reported on the nest
At ~ noon, 9 RED BREASTED MERGANSERS , 5 males, 4 females, swimming against the
wind on Cayuga Lake.
And among feeder birds, a SWAMP SPARROW on ground out front - right next to a
resplendent WHITE THROATED SPARROW; nice they were together to see size
comparison.

This is an out of county observation this morning at 815 am. (in Cortland
county, south along 38 from Harford, and about a mile N of Morton Road, based
on map. I thought it said Morey road. ). It was just so unusual to see,
thought it worth sharing.
Wild turkeys coming out of a roost along
This morning (Wed) I counted a 25 Siskins at our feeders, although there may be
many more. They are skitish and fly up alot so it's hard to get an accurate
count. Also many Goldfinches and a few Purple finches. Three Fox sparrows
continue to hang out as well.
