I'm so glad I put out the feeders. The male Hummingbird is back. The Oriole
has come to the jelly feeder repeatedly. On top of that, the House Wren just
let loose with song. Three new arrivals in one day.
I've got 5 White Crown Sparrows, but I think the White Throats and Juncos have
left.
As the radar showed we had quite a fallout around 0200 yesterday. When we
looked in
the morning we had Black-throated Green, Gray Catbird and Veery. This morning a
handsome male Baltimore Oriole checked in and devoured a peanut butter based
treat.
That's 76 for the year here.

American Redstart (male)
Hooded Warbler (male)
Blue-headed Vireos
Highlights from this morning in Renwick wildwood:
Gray catbird

Black-and-white warbler
Foxes! Mom fox watching over her cubs who were rolling in the grass next
to the little bay.

Hi all,
Now that my hands are free: This bird was found by Martha Fischer in the
small marshy areas near the staff entrances to the Lab of Ornithology. It's
moving between the two marshy areas along the wast side of the building
(sometimes running through the culverts) but it is frequenting the
I had 3 males and a female at the feeders yesterday.

Just on the porch steps right now having morning coffee and enjoying the
birds at the feeder when what to my wondering eyes should appear for a
drink of "nectar" but a wee traveler with a ruby throat returning from
its winter hiatus in far off
There is currently a Virginia Rail running around the marshes and on the
east side of the lab building.

We have had a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak at our feeder for several days,
but this morning we have one that is white where it should be red. At
first, I thought it might be a female, but there's no brown on it, the
breast isn't streaked, and the rest of it is just like a male. Do males
