The Mennonite couple who lived in the house that burnt on East Rd. put
up a Purple martin house several years before they moved away about two
yrs. ago. The box had been occupied by martins almost from the time the
box was put up & I saw martins there last yr.. I don't recall anyone
ever

Sorry to hear that the merlin nests did not do well this year. Today, I
was happy to see a baby oriole pop its head then full body launched out
suddenly and perch on the top of the nest ..or possibly its sibling's head?
The nest is extremely well concealed. I only noticed because mom and dad
In my posting yesterday evening I accidentally called the "black-necked stilt"
a “black-necked stint”.
