Sunday we added a new feeder bird to our list. About 10 days ago, I picked up
a road kill and placed it in the field to the north of our house a bit beyond
our bird feeders in hopes of attracting turkey vultures. On Sunday two turkey
vultures showed up at our bait!

Yours may be the first migrant Brown Thrasher this year in the Basin, but two
were found overwintering in February. The first was on Ferguson Road west of
Dryden, showing up at a feeder when a big snowstorm hit, then staying for over
a month. The second was noted by Jay McGowan on NYS-89 i

About 4:30 yesterday two swooping around each other over Fall Creek
west of the RR bridge. A few minutes later one of them sat on the nest
platform by the backwater for maybe 2 min.

This morning I had a Brown Thrasher in my yard foraging in the leaf litter and
along the back edge of the lawn. Ebird listed it as rare so I though I better
get some pictures. Link below.
I guess this might be an FOY for the basin. Sure is for my property.
