Hi all, The Osprey pair at Dryden Lake have been busy collecting nest material the last few days. Typical behavior seems to be flying over a small tree on the lake edge and tearing off a twig on the way by. However, I just saw one flying low over the ground to grab a large clump of cut grass.

When Sandy Podulka and I arrived at Salt Point late morning today we were greeted by a singing Orchard Oriole. Nice to have him back! Also singing were a number of Yellow Warblers, Warbling Vireos, Yellow-Rumps, a Redstart, Field and Song Sparrows, Goldfinches, Bluebirds, Tree and Barn

Saw plenty of swallows yesterday as we made our way to and around Montezuma. The first sighting was from the Visitor Center parking lot, a mixed flock of Barn, Tree and Northern Rough-winged. They were busy flitting around the crane statue, presumably picking up insects There were swallows at
