All the strong specs and reviews got me to check. Nope these are ca 3 mm more
than the interpupillary distance of the binocs I am currently using (just
barely) ie Athlon has a min distance of 57 mm.
That is not particularly big, typical of lots of contenders in the binocs race.
But small
There were no Cranes on Armitage when I arrived but when I moved to Olmstead,
hundreds began flying in. My lucky day!

Sunday Lake report:
Lots of Gadwalls, American Wigeons, Bufflehead, some Redheads,
Merganzers, and a Kingfisher at the pond on Rte. 90 in Union Springs.
We counted 220 Sandhill Cranes in the field between Olmstead road and
rte. 374 (Wiley rd?) just north of where 89 turns

Another important consideration is whether the recipient is an eyeglass wearer.
If they are, the eye-relief is critical. I would not buy a pair with
