First I’ll set the scene, then describe some odd behavior others saw, add my
own observations, and speculate on what was going on. You can read a more
succinct version in my eBird report if/when the unusually large number of
Chickadees gets approved as part of the public data base.

Ruby-crowned Kinglets
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers (drumming, working on a cavity, and defending it from
Red-bellies)
White-throated Sparrows
Dark-eyed Juncos
Purple Finches
Red-bellied
A Swamp Sparrow has joined the chorus of birds (and frogs) in the beaver
pond/meadow next to my property.
And the local Carolina Wrens have ignored all the other reasonable nesting
sites around the property, choosing instead to build inside the (closed) lid of
our propane tank!
