Hello Everyone,
Forgive the shameless self-promotion, but I thought some people might be
interested to know about a forthcoming waterfowl book authored by my dad, Guy
Baldassarre, who was a professor of ornithology and wildlife management at SUNY
ESF until his death almost two years ago.
GREAT EGRET confirmed in flooded area at corner of Thomas rd and Route 79 -
still there as of 6:10 pm

Others have probably noted this already, but at around 11:00 am there was a
heron investigating the nest snag out on the pond here at Sapsucker Woods. I
know they’ve been around the pond for a few days but that was the first time
I’ve seen one up near the nest.
