I am raising ducks, geese, turkeys, and chickens. I would like to band my
breeders but have not been satisfied with the products sold by the hatchery and
thought that someone on this list might be able to help me find banding
supplies and better information.
Thank you,
Jacie
Jacalyn Spoon,
On Monday I noticed that the Bobolinks had returned and were fighting for space
in my back pasture. Three males were seen all at one time all diving and
calling. I felt sure that there were more but they were so busy it was hard to
figure it out.

My resident barn swallows returned to their nest on Thursday 5/2. I also saw
bats for the first time in the air that night.

I heard my first Red-winged black birds singing on Sunday. They may have been
singing earlier in the week but I was still in hibernation mode. There were at
least 3 in my backyard in West Groton. Also, I had a swarm of little bugs
drowned in a water bucket I left on the sidewalk overnight.

The Bobolinks and Woodcocks are singing up a storm in my back yard.
Fireflies have just started.
If you'd like to listen just send me a quick message before tromping through
the back yard.
Feel free to park in the driveway but don't block anyone else.
And, avoid the electric fences.

I was delighted last night to see a Turkey Vulture circling overhead. I thought
little of it. This morning I noted that there actually was a dawn chorus! I
have red-winged black birds and American robins in my yard. I haven't taken
the time to look or listen for anything else but was happy to
Hello Everyone,
The Bobolinks have returned to my back yard. It must be spring.
Enjoy,

On Easter Sunday 4/4 I drove by Montezuma to see the fire that we had noticed
(all the way from Auburn) was in the swamp. How is the birding there now after
the fire? Are there noticeable differences from last year and this?
