I arrived at Sapsucker Woods in a pretty heavy fog at 7am. Hanging out in the conifers by the front entrance of the lab was a PHILADELPHIA VIREO (aka, the cute vireo) who was very obliging. Things were a little quiet but as I got near the end of the boardwalk on that side I picked up a

At Myers Point this morning I had the merganser sweep with a single FOY male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. Also present were 3 KILLDEER and I spooked up the largest group of WOOD DUCK I've seen so far this year with about 25. And yesterday about 5:30pm I had another/ the same adult LESSER

This morning from a pull-off between East Shore Park and Stewart Park an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was amidst all the gulls on the ice edge. Also an adult BALD EAGLE was standing on a spit across the way and a male and female WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were a long scope throw away looking north.
