I had planned to lead the field trip today to Lindsay Parsons, but only two people showed up and because so much had been going on locally we decided to change our plans and went to the Hawthorn Orchards instead. We immediately ran into Chris Tessaglia-Hymes who was listening to the Yellow-breasted Chat. We heard it too and before long it made itself visible. In that same spot was a pair of Scarlet Tanagers, a Wilson's Warbler, a Nashville, Common Yellowthroat, a flyover Indigo Bunting or two and an Ovenbird. We spent about an hour in that spot enjoying the Chat as it came and went.

The walk through the Orchards was rewarding, but it wasn't nearly as busy as I had hoped. The full eBird list is below.
