Sitting alone on the water around 8 am this morning was a BONAPARTE’s GULL. Seen from the spit in the Town park, the bird was just north of Salt Point. It took off and flew north after we had watched it for a couple of minutes.
We continued on up the lake but never encountered any more Bonaparte’s. We did have a single Sandhill Crane along East Road (Knox/Marsellus Marsh) in the same corn field where we found one last Saturday.
