Hi all,
I will be leading a full-day field trip for the Cayuga Bird Club on
Saturday, November 19, meeting in the close parking lot at the Lab of
Ornithology at 7:30am and carpooling up the lake, returning some time
in the late afternoon. We will plan on stopping at a few places along
the lake to look for winter water birds, and then continue up to
Montezuma to see what's around up there. Scoters, loons, and grebes of
various kinds are likely on the way up, and Montezuma could have
cranes, Snow and Ross's geese, a variety of waterfowl, perhaps some
lingering shorebirds, and the potential for much more.

The trip is open to the public - you do not have to be a club member
to participate! If you come, dress warmly. The forecast right now
looks pleasant enough (sunny and in the 50s), but it is always cold on
the lake this time of year. A scope is helpful for this kind of
birding, but don't worry if you don't have one, we will share.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
-Jay
