A point I seem to continually ponder in this season of new beginnings as I
amazingly  consider the various and sundry birds available to the
discerning eye: herons, humming birds, cranes, warblers, raptors, vultures,
marsh birds, etc., etc. It brings to my mind the last paraphrase of the 1st
edition of Origin of Species:
"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having
been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst
this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from
so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have
been, and are being, evolved."
Let's strive to cherish these moments we are truly fortunate to enjoy.
