?Hi all, I walked to home from work. It was beautiful blue sky, though still a bit cold. I came across a beautiful flock of about 350 Snow Geese flying towards the lake in the blue sky, at least that is what the intention seemed to be. Some of them seemed to be reluctant to fly any more, so they were slightly behind the group in a disorderly fashion.
Also in the afternoon from my office window I watched a flock of Canada Geese heading towards the lake or Bebee Lake, but from that group a small group of four birds decided to fly in their own direction. They split off from the group and headed straight north. Why I cant fathom, I watched them till they were not visible anymore. They did not rejoin the group. Along EIRW there were several male Red-winged Blackbirds, two them were claiming their "my property" . I also saw a female Red-winged blackbird in the lower bushes, she seemed to be huddling from the cold. On their regular trees were 6 Common Grackles doing their display songs and one Carolina Wren, different from the one I see in the morning was singing too. Several House Finches were singing along Honness Lane and finally there was "my" Robin in the yard looking fat with very dark rufous underside was silently foraging in the violet bushes. Glad I walked home!
