About an hour past the equinox, there are currently at least 27 Turkey Vultures over downtown Ithaca as viewed from my living room window. On St Patrick’s Day there were only 8 kettling while I planted peas. On a non-bird note, that was the day I saw my first Woodchuck. It walked gingerly out onto a dusting of snow that morning, but scurried back into its burrow after seeing a shadow - mine.
