On Monday Bill Watson and I visited Knox-Macellus and saw, among the numerous
Canada Geese and Ring-billed Gulls, 2 Blue phase plus 6 Snow Geese.
Additionally were Sandill Cranes, an immature Eage on the Mud Flats and 3
Trumpeter Swans. On Towpath Road we found Tony Shrimpton with his scope on the
Franklin's Gull. Then we saw Celeste Moriane and she had her scope on
Black-belied Plovers. Eventually we found the Avocet. We went to Van Dyne Spoor
Road and Bill, after a long search, spotted the Yellow-headed Blackbird amongst
the Starlings and RW Blacbirds, and I saw it in his scope, never in mine. We
also saw numerous N. Harrier, BH Cowbirds, PB Grebes, a Coot, and 4 Shovelers.
