One more reason to garden for birds, we just had a Nashville Warbler drop by to
check out the native plants in our yard. (There are a lot of them.).
Interestingly, we had one drop by in the Spring as well. I guess we made it
onto their map.

Yesterday afternoon I was lucky to catch sight of a Nashville Warbler
that flew in to our box elder for one very brief second and then flew
off. I was surprised that it was quite high up in the tree and was not
foraging in bushes, probably just arrived. Also a brief look at a Yellow

Also 2 palm warblers in that group of birds.

Nothing new around my place this morning, unless the Nashville Warbler I came
across is a fresh arrival (I didn't see any yesterday), but the encouragement
I took from yestereve's summer-like chorus is still with me: Hermit Thrushes,
Winter Wrens and Blue-headed Vireos were in their accustomed

I"m going to report it anyway: Jane Graves and I heard a Nashville

I can add a bright Nashville Warbler male and a Scarlet Tanager to Hope's list
of CU campus birds along the southern slope of Fall Creek. There are some
feeders behind Schurman Hall and there was a flurry of vociferous Chickadees,
Titmice, and House Finches visiting them this morning around 9 A
I woke up this morning thinking "Last day of April. There must be a
Nashville Warbler around here somewhere!" And of course there was,
right in the blooming apple trees.

This morning I was trying to photograph some White-crowned and
White-throated Sparrows in the contrasting snow and autumn foliage. I
was surprised to find a Nashville Warbler in the tree near my feeders.
