Hello all,
Oh, while driving at dusk last night I had a SHORT-EARED or LONG-EARED OWL pass over the car and land in the field out of sight near the corners of Herman and Fall Creek Rds in Dryden. My first impression was Short-eared Owl, but I remember a few years back seeing a Long-eared working these same fields....I also remember a dead Long-eared Owl turning up in this area around the same time. Worth keeping an eye out for it. cheers, Matt -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web.com – Enhanced email for the mobile individual based on Microsoft® Exchange - http://link.mail2web.com/Personal/EnhancedEmail -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
