I was eating on my sunporch when I glanced down at a bird that landed below 
me--it was a HUMMINGBIRD!  No mistaking that long thin bill. It was larger than 
a Ruby Throat.  I wish I could ID it but it didn't stay long and the light was 
terrible with lots of reflections on the windows.  I quickly found a feeder, 
filled it with hastily made serum, and hung it out.  I have no idea how it 
could survive here unless it can find tiny insects..  I'll let you know if I 
see it again and can ID it.  Even if it is a Ruby Throat, it would be a very 
unusual sighting for December..
