Yesterday the Montezuma Audubon Center hosted a NYS Outdoor Educator Association conference. Some of the participants saw the shrike that Ive been missing since it was reported! These sightings are not my own, and I encouraged the observers to eBird, but I haven’t seen them come through on the rare bird list.
A shrike was spotted early in the day ~8:30 am sitting at the top of a tree near the building. It wasn’t resighted to my knowledge. A yellow-rumped warbler was seen hanging with a group of bluebirds that were seen along the trail near the observation platform. Lastly, a (the?) pair of bald Eagles has been seen hanging out on top of tbe cell tower across 89 from the MAC. A few years ago they nested, taking advantage of the nest Ospreys had built. They weren’t successful that year, but maybe this year!
