We had two sand hill cranes fly over today. They circled once, leading us to
believe they were going to land, but they continued flying west.

I was surprised to see a rare (for us) yard bird on the patio and
surrounds, an Ovenbird.
Actually, we have seen one in the past a time or two in fall (and,
spring, if I remember correctly).
We have a woodchip path and that seems to be a draw.
We're on West Hill in the city.

I had my first ever Swainson's Thrush singing this morning from the woods in
the back yard here in Ithaca. It makes me wonder if any other new migrants will
be reported today.
