Good afternoon Cayugabirders! The message below that was sent to Cayugabirds-L was obviously spam that was unintentionally and unknowingly sent out from one of our subscriber's email accounts.
Please do not click on the "CLICK HERE" hyperlink in the original message (disabled in this message). I have temporarily disabled the subscriber from being able to post to Cayugabirds-L, without manual approval by me in the Lyris ListManager system, in the event that another unintentional message is distributed. Please use this as a reminder to maintain "situational awareness" about your computer, what web sites you visit, and what links you click on. Be vigilant of viruses and malware by keeping your antivirus software up-to-date and periodically clear out your web browser's cache, cookies, and history. It is also not a bad idea to keep up with most software updates pushed to your computer; many of these updates address potential security leaks with software and the operating system running on your computer, and may help prevent auto-bots from compromising your system. Most times, this kind of malware sneaks in without our knowledge. Keeping a clean computer is just one way to help minimize possible attacks or infections.
